Valentines weekend and I have a love hate relationship. I hate that everything is overpriced and marked up but I love having an excuse to spend time with Zack and do something that we might not normally do.
Being a teacher definitely helps on this holiday. It’s so much fun to watch the kids exchange valentines and get excited for treats and fun with their friends.
This year, like most years, Zack and I decided that we wouldn’t exchange gifts. We usually try to do something with each other. I cheated on this aspect a little and got him something last minute. I also nominated myself as best wife ever for this gift.
Beer (his second favorite he tells me) and Cheddar beef sticks
Zack and I love to cook together and have been wanting to make homemade pasta for a long time. Thanks to my wonderful mother in law we had a pasta roller and drying rack to use. I’ve been trying to avoid eating pasta but come on! Its Valentines Day!
Our finished result was some delicious homemade fettucini with a homemade alfredo sauce. If you haven’t tried making your own pasta I would highly recommend it. The process is fun and fairly easy, though it does help to have two people doing it. The results are so delicious you will not be able to go back to boxed pasta again.
Unfortunately I didn’t get a picture of the finished product because we were so excited to eat it!
